The HEART PROJECT is a young, all volunteer nonprofit located in Bloomington, Indiana. We believe we can address heart disease, the number one killer of women, by using our own generosity, intuition, and experiences to educate and support each other. Essentially, we believe our emotional hearts can play an enormous role in combating diseases of our physical hearts. Further, we believe that people are a great resource to one another, and that our intuitions regarding our health are frequently accurate. Our programs are meant to create comfortable environments in which to share our concerns and experiences regarding our health, support one another in dealing with these concerns, and to learn from each other’s experiences and expertise.

Our focus is on creating supportive, comfortable, and fun activities through which women can learn to make and implement healthy choices. We recognize that, though there is a lot of information about living healthfully, there is not a lot of guidance on how to put these suggestions into practice in our own unique and busy lives. Though we may hear frightening statistics about our health and well-being, this information is not often paired with practical information and long-term help in implementing lifestyle chances that will help us avoid being one of those statistics.

In a safe, comfortable, approachable way, we hope to inform women about the dangers of heart disease and how we can all live healthier lives for ourselves and for our families.
